Man Arrested in Argentina for Suspected Femicide

In the city of Termas de Río Hondo, Argentina, a skull and part of a torso belonging to a 65-year-old woman were found, while the arrest of a man accused of the alleged femicide was carried out. The victim was identified as Ramona Emilia Medina. She had left her home on Sunday to enjoy the spas in that locality but disappeared, and her family filed a missing person report with the Argentine News Agency. Initially, authorities found her partially incinerated remains wrapped in a blanket that the alleged murderer discarded in a vacant lot adjacent to the cemetery of Termas de Río Hondo, according to local media. Investigators confirmed that the perpetrator dismembered Medina and began to suspect that the retiree had arranged to meet a neighbor in the area. In this context, police officers went to a house located in the Herrera El Alto neighborhood, where they arrested Ricardo Luis Bustamante, 38, nicknamed "El Chuky," who was transferred to the judicial headquarters. The implicated individual is said to have confessed to the femicide and the place where he abandoned Ramona's body, while the autopsy results are awaited and the hypothesis of the possible participation of more people in the event is being considered. The testimony of a taxi driver was key, as he stated that he saw the woman and the apparent victim under the effects of alcohol, so he refused to make the trip. Likewise, experts from the Scientific Police, Police Firefighters, and fire personnel carried out a rigorous analysis.
